Prime day went by so fast that it almost feels like a blur. This year my household got a couple things that will really come in handy in the future.
The past couple of years I have felt like prime day has gone a tad down hill. It always seemed like there was nothing I ever really needed nor did I want when I went to browse. Target sensed this feeling many people had and decided to compete with the big dogs and launched some big sales of their own. Smart decision on their part, because I ended up purchasing a brand new 5 quart mixer with next day delivery from Target. I desperately needed a new mixer because mine was a tad old, and the pin kept popping out every time I would run it. Yes, yes I know I could have got it fixed, but when Target is selling KitchenAid mixers for less than $300 you have to buy a new one... its a rule right? Man oh man is she a beauty too! I'm such a baking dork that I get excited whenever I get a new mixer, bowl, or really any new baking item. This will be really helpful when making 2 batches of buttercream because I will have 2 mixers now. One that is meh and the other that is shiny and new! The new mixer came with a glass bowl (which is my favorite) and 3 attachments. I have learned over the past couple years that a stand mixer is one of the best investments for a baker. I have fibromyalgia so sometimes my hands and wrists can give me a rough time when having to mix things by hand, that's one of the many wonderful reasons to own a stand mixer. Also, its great for multitasking, as you can walk away while the mixer is still going and come right back to it with no worries. I can officially say that I am the proud mother of a brand new Artisan 5 quart KitchenAid mixer!
I also purchased some items off Prime day as well. Lets see, I bought a 10 piece stainless steel set of measuring cups and spoons that will really come in handy for staging pictures and for general use. I also got some rose gold foil cupcake liners, brown parchment paper, and a mini 3 cup food processor. Non baking items were purchased as well. We bought a ring door bell system, folding storage cube bins, and some other small items. This year has been more successful than the past years because of good ole Target and the fact that I really needed the items I purchased with or without Prime day.
The food processor is the perfect size for me since I never really need to use a large one. I always used the small food processor that my parents had and believe me, that thing was knocking on deaths door. It is practically older than I am and smelled like burning metal when used longer than 5 minutes. I'm so glad there was a sale on this little Hamilton Beach one!
But, either way you spin it, this years shopping haul was a success for myself and my household. I hope everyone else had luck with the deals this year as well!
